As a youth mentor/teacher and former college admissions counselor, I have a unique "inside - out" perspective. I understand what colleges are looking for in students  AND I empathize with families who are overwhelmed with next steps planning. Let me alleviate your pain points by being your student's advocate, who helps them present their best selves to colleges or wherever their dreams take them. Next steps planning doesn't have to be overwhelming when you have a mentor in your corner.

 

Through the years, I talked to too many young people who had no idea what they wanted to do in life and no clue how to figure that out. They needed better awareness of their design, which is the first step in determining their future direction. I discovered an incredible tool called Career Direct, developed by Crown Ministries. It proved to be very insightful for my own emerging adults. My oldest son studied mechanical engineering at the US Naval Academy and my next two attended selective universities based on their program of study and promising career prospects. This is why I got certified as a Career Direct consultant, so I could mentor many other students to find their best fit major and career. I am a master Career Direct consultant with a 4.9/5.0 rating and among the top in the US. 

 

Career Direct is the only long standing, comprehensive, values-based assessment on the market that aligns results in four areas of personal design: personality, interests, skills, and values. This 2.5 hour consultation is the centerpiece of my college and career guidance business. 

 

I specialize in customized college consulting. My approach is student-centered and purpose driven, which includes: Career Direct consultation, experienced essay reviewing to help students find their authentic voice (seasonal essay reviewer with College Coach in 2020 editing 30 essays per week), activity resume preparation, curating a college list, test prep strategy, application help and deadline accountability, an online platform for family communication and to keep students organized every step of the way, scholarship database subscription and instructions to earn valuable scholarship $, and more.
